about me
Dodie Nicole...
A woman who is a mix of heart, hustle, and healing – figuring things out as she goes, with faith, resilience, and curiosity. She’s all about real talk, inspiring others, and creating a space for truth, transformation, and purpose.
My story isn’t just one story. It is multiple layers woven into the becoming of where I am today.
As a child, home life was simple from what I remember. My parents and I lived in Plaisance, LA until I was 5 then moved to Opelousas, LA. I was an only child for 12 years and I’ve always had 1-2 friends. When I was around 10, my parents separated, then divorced shortly after. In the next few years my mom had my sister, we moved to Prairie Rhonde, LA, and to say that my teen years were a whirlwind might be an understatement. I definitely created lots of problems for myself and others.
As I entered adulthood, I had unresolved pain from my teen years that I brought with me. Married at 23, first child at 25, moved states, gave my life to Jesus, moved back, 2 more children, homeschooled them, another child, divorce, and then an awakening to my healing journey…at 39.
What can I say about the journey of healing? It’s not linear, it’s more of an onion unpeeling.
Just when I would think I had forgiven that person, Boom! Triggered again! When I thought I dealt with a childhood trauma, Boom! Triggered again!
I’m not gonna lie, I still have moments of poverty mindset, but I’m getting better at catching the thought before it comes out in words. I’m getting better at using my words for life instead of death. Encouraging others helps my growth in this area, so thank you for being here.
Now, as I walk into a new season, the season of singleness, I choose to believe it’s about more and not negative. I am being set apart, for a purpose. Becoming who I was created to be.
As you enter in my experiences and revelation of the lessons, my hope is that you will absorb them as encouragement, inspiration, and guidance for yourself. Because let’s be real, I’m still not perfect, and I don’t want you thinking you have to be either! Some mistakes and detours are some of the best things that can happen to us…even if we can’t see it at the time.
I’ve learned many things on this healing journey. One of the greatest lessons is that I didn’t go through what I went through for nothing. I have lessons, tools, resources, and experience to share with women who have lost themselves along their journey. Maybe you are like me and never really knew who you were, and now you are in the “awakening” phase of your life, and you don’t know where to start to find yourself. Maybe you are a young woman or young momma and you are seeking to learn from someone who can come along side you for guidance, so you don’t lose yourself in motherhood or career.
It takes a safe place to be vulnerable. This is a place of vulnerability.
Whether you’re here to grow, explore, laugh, heal, or simply read along…I’m honored to have you here.
